Penelope Cruz makes runway debut at Karl Lagerfeld’s final Chanel show

“The beat goes on…” were the emotional words placed on the seats of Chanel show-goers early Tuesday morning in Paris.

Karl Lagerfeld’s dearest friends —  Anna Wintour, Kristen Stewart, Janelle Monáe and Naomi Campbell — all sat front row while a parade of Chanel muses united on the Fall 2019 runway for his final collection.

Penélope Cruz made her catwalk debut honoring the late German designer, holding a single white rose, as she gracefully pranced the snow-covered runway among the picturesque aprés-ski inspired scene. The French fashion house unveiled its first campaign with the Oscar-winning actress back in October.

Cruz stunned in a white feather mini skirt and tiered-ruffled top, while Kaia Gerber followed behind in a parallel winter white feathered uniform. Longtime Chanel muse Cara Delevingne opened and closed the profound show wearing a black-and-white checked tweed look, perfectly complimenting the alpine village backdrop.

Lagereld’s successor, Virginie Viard, subtly appeared on the steps of the magical “Chalet Gardenia” during the shows finale, where she will now take the creative reigns after Karl’s 36 years.

After all, the show must go on.

Kim Kardashian continues her streak of Vintage Thierry Mugler as a chic gladiator

Did we just figure out the reason A-listers are suddenly revisiting Vintage Thierry Mugler?

From Cardi B’s 1995 couture oyster look at the 2019 Grammy’s followed by Miley Cyrus’ plunging black Mugler suit, the legacy French fashion designer has been popping up more than usual in pop cultures latest moments.

Case in point: Kim Kardashian’s python beaded gown she wore for her latest appearance on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.” The 1983 body hugging dress was just the start of her Mugler wardrobe binge. A week later, Kim stepped out for the Hollywood Beauty Awards in New York City wearing one of her most risqué looks to date.

The dress? A strategically crisscrossed cutout dress from Spring 1998 that redefined the word cleavage.

Well, we finally got some answers when the KKW beauty mogul jet set to the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts on Monday for the pre-opening of an exhibition honoring the 40 year history of Thierry Mugler.

Kim took to her Instagram stories to share two bold vintage looks she wore to the VIP opening. First up was a one-shouldered Grecian gown featuring a bodice of gold armor (think Troy meets Athena). Next, was a white sculpted mini dress with a bust-baring corset styled with conceptual armbands.

Frances McDormand styled neon Birkenstocks with Valentino Couture – and we are so here for it

Contrary to what fashion insiders might think — neon suede Birkenstocks pair perfectly chic with Haute Couture.

Frances Mcdormand took the 2019 Oscar’s stage to present the Best Actress award in a berry pink, silk faille gown from Valentino’s Spring 2019 collection. And while most might opt for a slinky stiletto or an embellished Manolo given the chance to wear dreamy Italian couture, the “Three Billboards” actress went the comfortable route with neon yellow custom Valentino Birkenstocks.

A fashion genius? I think so.

In true McDormand style, the actress completed the look with her signature no-makeup for a refreshing approach on the stage and left the jewelry at home minus a pair of white teardrop earrings.

“Last year, while swanning on the grand staircase at the Met Gala, by invitation of Pierpaolo Piccioli of the House of Valentino, a spark ignited in me. I have always followed fashion and had a secret desire to find a way to express my knowledge and appreciation for it. When given the chance to lend my enthusiasm and experience to the collaboration of a particular item of fashion there was only one answer for me: Birkenstock’s Arizona two strap sandal,” she told Vogue.

“I have worn these sandals for most of my adult life. They have literally formed me physically and philosophically. All that I desired was to have a pair in my favorite color: acid yellow. And now they exist!” “The spark caught fire and there’s no going back.”

Julia Roberts’ Oscars heels just went on sale on Shopbop

Julia Roberts added to the parade of pink gowns upon making her surprise appearance to close out the 91st Annual Academy Awards.

The “Pretty Woman” star took the stage to present the Best Picture award and stunned in a fuchsia one-shouldered gown by Ellie Saab along the way.

The hue dominated the Oscars by the likes of Gemma Chan’s Valentino number, Kacey Musgraves’ tulle moment by Giambattista Valli, and Sarah Paulson’s Brandon Maxwell parachute dress.

And while most of the stars’ floor-grazing gowns kept us from getting a glimpse of their footwear, Roberts took the monochromatic root and paired her dress with matching fuchsia Stuart Weitzman heels.

The best part? You can save big during Shopbop’s ‘Buy More, Save More’ sale (up until March 2nd). Just enter GOBIG19 at checkout, and they’re yours for a fraction of the price!

The gorgeous shoes only stack up to 3 inches, making them more comfortable than your usual evening heels. Made from a lambskin leather and a strappy silhouette, there’s no doubt these beauties will be on rotation all spring long.

Stars lay it bare at the Vanity Fair Oscars Party 2019

Barely there fabrics, plunging necklines and a parade of sensual slits led the pack of A-listers at Vanity Fair’s Oscars after Party 2019.

Emily Ratajakowski stepped out in a corseted nude-lace trumpet dress by Brock Collection, while Emma Roberts also showcased the wonders of totally sheer fabrics courtesy of her crystalline thigh-high slit.

However, the slit of the night goes to Kendall Jenner who arrived on the red carpet wearing a double-split skirt by Rami Kadit — which entirely showed off her insanely toned legs-for-days. Jennifer Lopez, Alessandra Ambrosio and Adriana Lima also made the case for daring leggy moments.

Deep V’s came in the form of peak-a-boo cut-outs like Regina King’s bohemian and sophisticated approach, while all eyes were on Miley Cyrus’ Saint Laurent sequin plunge that bared the entirety of her envious torso.

From Kerry Washington’s whimsical Schiaparelli dress to Chrissy Teigen’s feathered look, check out all of the red carpet arrivals from Sunday night’s Vanity Fair party below — where guests sipped on Peroni throughout the night . Trust us, you won’t be bored.

Jennifer Lawrence flashes engagement ring at the Dior show

Leave it to Paris Fashion Week for Jennifer Lawrence to debut her gorgeous ring during her first public appearance since her engagement to Cooke Maroney.

The “Red Sparrow” actress stepped out in the City of Love to attend Dior’s Fall 2019 show, where Karlie Kloss, Olivia Palermo, Cara Delevingne and Bianca Jagger resided as her front row seat mates.

The Kentucky-born star emulated French girl style by the way of oversized sunglasses, plaid kitten heels and a conservative pleated mini dress — paired with the modernly sophisticated bucket we saw every model debut on the Dior runway.

J.Law has fronted campaigns for the French fashion house since 2012. In 2014, it was reported that she extended her contract with Dior for an additional three years for approximately $15 million in compensation. The actress has since renewed her Dior deal again — can you blame her?!

Lawrence and her 33-year-old art dealer finacé confirmed their engagement on February 5th, days after she was spotted wearing a diamond ring on her finger while out in New York City with Maroney.

Oscars 2019: Pink haute couture shut down the red carpet

Originally published on

Floor-grazing gowns and sequin numbers are the tried and true formulas for awards season dressing, but one color in particular dominated the 2019 Oscars red carpet: Power pink.

Gemma Chan set the tone arriving in a neon shade with her Valentino Haute Couture gown. The “Crazy Rich Asians” star has been the one-to-watch by reason of her fashion-forward approach on the step and repeats.

Kacey Musgraves made her Oscar debut channeling a couture fashion princess in a pink tulle masterpiece by Giambattista Valli. The dramatic gown was equally imaginative as it was sophisticated.

Our personal favorite? Sarah Paulson in Brandon Maxwell’s fresh-off-the-runway finale look from his Fall 2019 RTW collection. The parachute gown featured a billowing skirt and wasp-waist cutout complete with a diamond choker.

Julia Roberts made a surprise appearance to present “Green Book” with the Academy Award for Best Picture. The “Ben is Back” actress also got the pink memo — stunning in a one shoulder fushia gown and side swept part showing off her gorgeous teardrop earrings.

“Green Book” star Linda Cardellini stepped away from her minimal red carpet route and took a risk in an asymmetrical ruffled-sweeping gown by legacy couture house, Elsa Schiaparelli.

NYFW: Brock Collection Fall/Winter 2019

Originally on

Purity and sex are the words Kristopher and Laura Brock used to describe their Fall/Winter 2019 collection.

The luxe ready-to-wear label, founded by the married couple, introduced a beautiful collection of provocative suiting merged with elegant elements of ruffled collars, tweeds and statement bows.

It’s clear that clothing embodies the romance that the designers themselves share. From metallic infused florals to colonial bustiers tailored for modern day, Brock Collection proves that having class goes a long way. Among the standouts, there was a voluminous shouldered red dress, belted blazers and sheer slips all worthy of the splurge.

“Purity and sex. At first, these two words might seem or sound antipodal, but one without the other makes for something incomplete. Together, and measured, the story sparks to life. This is the calibration of Brock Collection’s evolved romance for Fall; clothing that is sewn out of the fundamentally traditional codes of the label’s core, but that is also imbued with a new sense of assuredness and sensuality,” the show notes read.

The beauty portion, created by Gucci Westman, perfectly celebrated the clothes in a sophisticated and timeless manner — using her newly launched line of makeup, Westman Atelier — including products such as the Vital Skin Foundation Stick and the Baby Cheeks Blush Stick.

“This look was inspired by badass women – Sharon Stone in Basic Instinct comes to mind. Skin is beautiful and airy, but made street-ready with a heavily shadowed eye, that’s intense but wearable,” Westman explained.

The Brock Collection brought out a slew of stars to the front row: Madeline Brewer and Angela Sarafyan to name a few. Scroll through all of the celebrities hitting New York Fashion week in the gallery below!

Originally published on

Charlie Puth and Charlotte Lawrence are officially an item.

The “One Call Away” singer seemingly confirmed his relationship on Thursday, sharing a blurry black-and-white photo of the pair with the caption “Happy Valentine’s Day.” adding a heart emoji.

Puth and Lawrence were first spotted leaving Dave Chappelle and John Mayer’s performance at a West Hollywood club in December — Lawrence’s best friend, Kaia Gerber, tagged along, too. The couple was most recently spotted out and about during New York Fashion Week, where Lawrence performed at the Diane Von Furstenberg party.

So who exactly is Charlotte Lawrence? In short, she’s a mega-talented singer who dropped her debut album, “Young,” back in May. Here are five must-know facts about the 18-year-old beauty!

1. She’s an up and coming singer-song writer — who can really, really sing!

Every so often, a virtually unknown singer comes along and truly blows us away. Charlotte first started gaining attention with her sultry version of the hit “Grease” song, “Your The One That I Want.” From there, she dropped singles including “Seventeen” and “Sleep Talking” which gained major streaming success on Spotify. In 2018 she debuted her first album, “Young,” and sold out shows at small venues all over the world. She also collaborated with Kaskade on their beautiful breakup song “Cold As Stone.”

2. Her dad created the hit show “Scrubs”

Charlotte’s dad, Bill Lawrence, created the iconic NBC show “Scrubs,” where Charlotte’s mom, Christa Miller, starred in alongside Zach Braff. Bill also has written for hit shows such as “The Nanny” and “Boy Meets World” and is even credited with having named the character Topanga Lawrence.

3. She calls Zach Braff her uncle

Often spotted in the VIP section of Charlotte’s concerts, the 43-year-old actor has remained a close friend of the family since his time on “Scrubs.” The two refer to each other has uncle and niece and, in December, Braff took to Instagram to share a photo with Charlotte alongside Puth with the hilarious caption “Tried to take a sweet picture with my pseudo-niece and got photobombed by an up and coming musician.” — So basically, the relationship signs were there all along, and we totally missed it!

4. She’s an IMG-signed model

Gorgeous, young and talented! Lawrence has graced the editorial pages of Harper’s Bazaar, Teen Vogue and has been the face of major fashion campaigns including Fendi, Cynthia Rowley and Balmain. Most recently, she covered V-Magazine’s Spring 2019 issue, where she was interviewed by her BFF Kaia Gerber — which brings us to our next point.

5. She runs in a tight circle of famous faces

Charlotte’s sisterhood with Kaia Gerber (Cindy Crawford’s daughter) has become a fan favorite on Instagram. The friends have been inseparable since two years old (Charlotte even named her dog Apple Kaia Lawrence when she was two). The “Sleep Talking” singer also has a close relationship with Kendall Jenner, and they are often spotted hanging out around the beaches of Malibu.

Celebrities reinvent the powersuit

Originally published on

Powersuits are nothing new — but the elevated red carpet version is quickly replacing a time when gowns and after-party dresses are the only obvious option.

Whether it be Lady Gaga’s oversized Marc Jacobs menswear suit she wore to ELLE’s Women In Hollywood event or the lineup of looks Blake Lively so famously wears so well, our favorite style icons are ditching their pretty dresses and wearing the pants.

Although timeless trousers and boyish blazers will never go out of style, it’s the fashion-forward and fearless approach to the monochromatic separates that we are loving so much. Case in point: Katie Holmes tailored Prada suit featuring feathered cuffs or Hailey Baldwin’s street approach paired with a bold neon turtleneck.

This powerful form of dressing is taking celebs from the Grammys (I.e Miley Cyrus in vintage Mugler) to movie premieres and showing up in day-to-day looks, styled back with sneakers — à la Zendaya.

Ahead, get ready to see some of the most well-dressed women on-and-off the carpet including Nicole Kidman, Tracee Ellis Ross, Kourtney Kardashian and more.

Selena Gomez’ latest Instagram made us spend $200 on a bikini

Originally published on

We know there’s the “The Kate and Meghan Effect,” but “The Selena Effect” just got so real.

Selena Gomez continued her Instagram return over the weekend looking better than ever on her best friend’s bachelorette party in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. The “Bad Liar” singer posted a slew of fun photos wearing a cream-colored bikini by L*Space on the beach.

Her ribbed top featuring a bandeau-inspired silhouette retails for $92, while her sexy high-waist bottoms cost $99. And while our wallets are not totally thrilled with us spending $200 on a bikini, we’re doing it anyway — because an investment on a perfectly well-made swimsuit goes a long way and that might mean there’s a sunny vacation in our future.

Selena’s not the only celebrity fan of the California brand. Last spring Christina El Moussa sported L*Space while out and about in Hawaii and Emily Ratajkowski counts herself an L*Space lover as well.

Rebecca Minkoff looks to Ibiza for her Spring/Summer 2019 collection

Originally published on

Rebecca Minkoff has always had a modern approach to the runway — and her Spring/Summer 2019 collection was no different.

From her see-now-buy now appeal (instead of the 6-month turnaround) to casting a diverse range of models, the American designer proved she knows exactly what the contemporary woman wants in her closet.

“We’ve had a diverse range of women for a really long time. I just feel like more people are becoming aware that what they’re doing is not right. I think it’s still unfortunately a conversation but, I want to show a diverse cast because that’s my customer base. I want to show women of color, different sizes — we want you here and want you part of this brand,” Minkoff told AOL backstage right before her NYFW show at Spring studios.

The collection, made up of accessible and easy-to-wear pieces, was brought to life with strong shoulders and vibrant colors, while styling details lied within the the oversized belting and doubled-down purses.

“The jumping off point for the collection was Ibiza. The idea of there’s a real freedom and the love movement started there, so just tapping into the idea of celebrating optimism, love, and really focusing on a modern woman. A modern woman as a lot of layers to her. We talk about this in our I AM MANY (a campaign Minkoff launched in September 2018), so how do you get that in clothing?”

“Whether we’re using a print in different in fabrics and formats and layering them to the idea of strong shoulders and a cinched waist or playing with volume and proportion to show of how we view a women as strong and powerful,” Minkoff added.
